Implement Bedside Ultrasound Training at Your Institution

Why Train for Ultrasound?
An estimated 100,000 people die from preventable medical errors
in US hospitals each year. In recent years, there has been an
increasing body of scientific literature supporting the use of bedside
ultrasound in critical care, especially for central venous access
(CVC), thoracentesis and paracentesis procedures. Results have
demonstrated significant improvement in preventative care, a
reduction in infections and complications, and ultimately, better
patient outcomes.
The Canadian Critical Care Society Takes Action
In keeping with our mission to promote and enhance critical care
medicine in Canada by implementing best practices, we are collaborating
with CAE Healthcare, a global leader in ultrasound education,
to help medical centers across Canada implement standardized,
society-endorsed training in bedside ultrasound that can be
adapted for each institution.
