Conferences below updated with 2009 information

Some highlights from the CCCS meeting at the CCCF:
The 2008 Certification exam was challenged by 41 adult and 7 pediatric trainees, with a 93% pass rate - congratulations to all the successful Fellows!
The Canadian Council for Donation and Transplantation has been dissolved and those functions assumed by the Canadian Blood Services.
The Guidelines Committee (joint between CCCS and CCCTG) has changed the name to Knowledge Translation Committee to reflect a broader mandate and is updating terms of reference.
David Leasa, CCCS President, presented the results of a strategic evaluation of the CCCS and plans for revising the board structure to be task-oriented rather than constituency-based. Approval in principle was granted at the annual meeting at CCCF, which will enable the bylaws to be revised accordingly. The updated bylaws will then be submitted to a vote by all members of the CCCS.

Look for more information on all the above in an upcoming CCCS newsletter.
